Professional Experience

Bill Hayden, Global Retail & Multi-Site Sector President, CBRE Global Workplace Solutions, leads clients in streamlining and enhancing retail real estate portfolios through facility management, project management, and advisory and transaction services. As a sector comprised of more than 1,000 employees, GWS Retail & Multi-Site provides a full facility and project management solution to clients including interior and exterior maintenance, capital projects, and sustainability initiatives to be a part of building a better tomorrow. This sector manages millions of facility maintenance work orders annually for clients. Client success is enabled through industry-leading proprietary technology, billions of historical asset data points, and tailored supply chain solutions to meet each client's needs.

CBRE’s Retail & Multi-Site sector began as a start-up named facilitysource, a computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) technology and 24/7 helpdesk. Starting with a single client in 2006, facilitysource evolved over time to offer a full facility management solution to retailers to manage their store maintenance operations. Bill raised private equity funding in 2012 from Warburg Pincus, which funded investments in facilitysource’s technology and supply chain operations for the following six years. Acquired by CBRE in 2018 for $300M, the business has consistently achieved double-digit percentage growth.

In 2022, Bill assumed the role of President of the newly formed Retail & Multi-Site sector, with a focus on continued innovation and rapid growth. CBRE currently serves over 40 clients in the Retail & Multi-Site sector, including national retail occupiers, as well as supporting other GWS sectors with distributed real estate in Healthcare, Industrial & Logistics, Telcom, Media & Technology, and others.

Before joining facilitysource in 2006, Bill held leadership roles with several major facility management companies. He also leveraged his computer science degree at two workflow and digital asset management start-ups early in his career.

He lives in Phoenix, Arizona with his wife, Amanda, and daughter, Gabi.
